Ask Sid is a coaching app for youth and high school football. Coaches use it to score a roster, build depth charts, plan for an opponent, and ask questions of an AI assistant. This policy explains what we collect when you use asksid.io and the Ask Sid app, how we use it, and the choices you have. "Ask Sid", "we", and "us" mean the team that operates the app.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use player information for advertising.
When you ask Sid a question, the question and the team context needed to answer it are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate a response. That context can include roster, skill ratings, depth chart, schedule, and game details, including player names. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, that information is used to produce the answer and is not used to train their models.
We share information with the service providers that make the app work:
We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will say so on this page.
Ask Sid accounts are for coaches and other adults. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to create an account, and we do not collect information directly from players.
Coaches enter information about their players, many of whom are minors. If you enter player information, you confirm that you have the authority to do so and that you have any consent your league, school, or district requires. We use that information only to provide the service to that team, never to advertise and never to build profiles outside the app.
If you believe player information was entered without proper authorization, email hello@asksid.io and we will remove it.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your information, or to object to how it is processed. Email us and we will respond.
We keep your information for as long as your account is open. When an account is deleted, its data is removed from our live systems and encrypted backups age out on our provider's normal schedule. We may keep a limited record of the deletion request itself, and anything the law requires us to retain.
Traffic runs over HTTPS, our database provider encrypts data in transit and at rest, and access rules restrict team data to the coaches on that team. No service can promise perfect security, so use a strong, unique password and tell us right away if you think someone else has reached your account.
Ask Sid is operated from the United States and our providers store and process information there. If you use the app from another country, you are sending your information to the United States, where privacy laws may differ from the ones at home.
We update this policy when the app changes or the law requires it. The date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change is significant, we will note it here and, where appropriate, tell you by email.
Questions? Email hello@asksid.io and a person will answer.
